Task 4

Task 4: Tomorrow morning, I am going on a voyage to Canterbury, together with my best friend Lieke. I’m really excited and we are going to have such a great time! My name is Sanne, and I am sixteen years old. I have blond hair and green-blue eyes. The main reason that Lieke and I are going on this trip, is because we have always valued friendship a lot. We have been friends since kindergarten and our friendship means a lot to both of us. We decided it would be a great idea to honor our friendship by making this trip to Canterbury. Lieke is also sixteen, her birthday is exactly one month before mine. She looks a bit like me, but her hair is a little bit more brown. She is a sweet and caring person, and you can always rely on her. As I said, tomorrow morning we are going on a voyage together. We have strictly planned the whole trip out, since I am no fan of surprises. I am also a kind of a perfectionist, which is why I was shocked when I found out that the hotel that be booked

Task 3

1. What is a pilgrimage? Do you think pilgrimages still take place? A pilgrimage is a long journey made by an pilgrim. It often has a religious or spiritual purpose. They go to a sacred place, that is really important or has a special meaning to them. They do this as an act of religious devotion, and to pay their respects. I think pilgrimages still take place nowadays, and is relevant in our lives. Sure, the 'modern' pilgrimages have changed in some aspects from the traditional pilgrimages. It is probably not only about religion anymore. But people today are still traveling to go to places that they feel like they have a connection with and get inspired by. 2. Look for (at least 5) facts about Thomas Becket. - Thomas Beckett was born on December 21, 1118 (https://www.biography.com/people/st-thomas-becket-9204211) -  He was born in Cheapside, Londen (http://www.lordsandladies.org/thomas-becket.htm) - His best friend was Henry, later to become King Henry ll of England (https://ww

Task 2

I chose the second part (lines 258 - 610) of the story: "A hero arrives" 1. Which character did you choose and why? Grendel, the evil demon that attacks the Herot and eventually fights against Beowulf. I think he (or it) is a really interesting character and also important for the story. He is different than the rest of the characters, and I am curious why he acts this way and commits all these murders. 2. Write down as many characteristics about you character as possible. Grendel is a man-eating, horrible, possessed monster demon whose gender is unknown. He is described as "insensible to pain and human sorrow". His occupation is mostly killing Danes, feed on the corpses of his victims, and attacking King Hrothgar's mead-hall every winter for twelve years long. He is merciless and will never show any remorse. His appearance is never exactly described by the narrator. 3. Write an interview and give full responses. 1) How would you describe yourself in one
